“We had no problem finding homes that qualified for WexEnergy’s technology, the WindowSkin® products were easy to install, and visibility through the window was not impacted” – Tennessee Valley Authority

In 2021, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) sponsored WexEnergy for a pilot as part of the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Incubatenergy Labs Program. WexEnergy, TVA, and EPRI teamed up to demonstrate the impact of installing a mix of PolarSkin™ and SolarSkin™ products into 12 low-income, single-family homes in Nashville, Tennessee. The goals were to improve the thermal performance of each house, gain insight into installation, and receive customer feedback.

EPRI recently issued  Incubatenergy’s report of the WindowSkin® project. Check out report highlights here:

  • Highly Deployable: WindowSkins fit 95+% of the windows measured in TVA’s territory.
  • Easy to Install: CLEAResult, TVA’s contractor, found the installation process itself to be easy. WexEnergy provided virtual training for WindowSkin measurement & installation. 600+ WindowSkins were successfully installed.
  • Great Visibility: Customers were pleased because they were able to clearly see through their windows.

TVA and EPRI will share their final energy savings analysis and customer feedback in 2023, once measurement & verification is complete. We will share news as we receive it.
