On May 13, 2020 LEAD on Climate 2020 (Lawmaker Education and Advocacy Day) descended onto Congress.
333 companies including, Pepsico, Microsoft, Tiffany and Visa met with 88 congressional offices on both sides of the party line. LEAD on Climate meets with congress people each year to discuss climate policy and how companies are working towards more environmentally friendly operations. In 2019, 75 companies participated in the LEAD on Climate visit to Congress. “We have to make these introductions on a large scale so that Congress knows if they act on climate, the broad business community will have their back,” says Anne Kelly of Ceres, who organizes the LEAD on Climate event.
It’s great to see large companies getting in on the action for climate change!
