Did you know…by social distancing you are helping curb the spread of the virus and reduce carbon emissions?

For most Americans individually, driving and other forms of transportation create their largest carbon footprint. One round-trip flight from NY to London produces about as much carbon emissions as 8 years of recycling saves for a single individual. The absence of outside business meetings has led to a noticeable decrease in carbon emissions from transportation, now that many of us are working at home. The reduced frequency of shopping trips, as well keeping your refrigerators and freezers full so they run more efficiently, is helping reduce carbon emissions too. There are some really cool maps comparing carbon emissions pre and post Covid-19.

How are you reducing carbon emissions while staying home to help flatten the curve?
